Frontliner’s Sky

As orange hue fills the sky,
Enfolding the Earth and all that’s within,
Humanity embracing therein,
A wonderful burst that pleases the eye.

Somewhere beneath this majestic sheet
Is a soul in deep solitude,
Worn out, barely feeling his feet,
Almost losing utmost aptitude.

Gloved covered hands,
All wrapped up in full battle gear,
With all valor, accepted the commands
For keeping humanity so dear.

Facing each sunrise with new struggles
Of what if’s, doubts and hesitations,
Endless, countless fears and grapples,
Clinging to the Almighty for preservation.

It is a call of duty, a covenant:
From grievance to the loss of a beloved,
To witnessing the sweet victories of battles,
And hearing a few whispered death wishes.

Fulfilling a Hippocratic act,
Choosing others first instead of self.
Happiness, freedom, a sacrificial act.
The soul in deep solitude beneath every sunset and sunrise is a hero per se.
