Evolution

I’m back to my love of writing.
With you, my dear Pangyao, I’m here again reconnecting
To all of you, my dear community.
Let’s do something worth remembering.

Eight years ago, I cared so much about my ego.
My makeup should be on the go.
Only matching outfit will do.
My hair was curled nicely.
Nail polish painted boldly.
But are these material things that made me happy?
My heart was weary and empty.

I asked myself, what’s your role in this community?
You are aging; our life is temporary.
You’re lucky, good life at work and married.
How about those less fortunate? Did you help them or give an eye of scrutiny?

Then I realized with my good faith as a migrant worker,
I should give back to the community.
I stopped wearing fancy clothes, no more shopping; many are hungry.
Share your blessing, make a person happy.

We are given lots of choices.
I chose to listen to your voices,
Trying to console you to avoid vices.
Show care to our community, spread love, spare humanity.

It’s not too late to walk in the right direction.
Never forget life isn’t about perfection,
But happiness in what you do.
Admins here at Social Justice are all here listening to you.

I stopped writing when my dog Tiger died last February 18, 2021.
Thanks to Pangyao’s founders for understanding when I paused from writing.
